A digital painting I did of one of my favorite french music artist, Alain Bashung, who just died of cancer. His music is awesome, a great and unique artist. I don't think anybody will be able to fill up the empty space he left.

Here are the designs for the characters of my next short, Les yeux Noirs. They might not be 100% final final, but they are gonna look at lot like that. I decided to have fun with the limbs, if you look at the arms, they bend without logic, and the sholders are not even aligned! Let's go crazy.

I new version for the character os Samuel, in my feature Vinland project. I had to reajust him fallowing the lastest rewrite of the script. He's changing from a shaman to a college teacher. Quite a change of status!

I did a rough drawing of a very famous 70's live action TV show of Quebec called "Le capitaine Bonhomme". He was like a french Canadian version of the Munchausen baron. A great character that would make a great animated flick.

Here's two version of my main character called Max. We are still debating if we should go for a more cartoony look or not...I'm still strugggling, but I think my heart bends toward the second one, cartoonier. The tone of the final script will probably dictate the style at the end.

Hi everyone

Welcome to my brand new blog, a complement to my web site http://www.stareater.info/.

This blog will be usefull for those who are interested in seeing my new stuff without having to go thru my entire web site.
In you wonder why "The Star Eater", it's simply because it 's the title of the first animated short I directed some years ago (back in 1999) , all in 2D. I kept the name since for sentimental reasons I guess. Feel free to give your feedback!

For my first two "official" new drawings, I tough that it could be interesting to show my last film project in development, for now intitled "Le Tigre et le soldat" (the tiger and the soldier). The graphic style is radically different, since I tend to adjust my style to the subject of each project.

My second film project, a short film of about 8 minutes, is a children's book adaptation for the NFB. The book is called "Les Yeux Noirs" (the black eyes).

Finally, I also have a feature film project in develpment with MaxFilms and the NFB in Montreal, I will put some illustrations and concept arts soon as the project takes forms.
